ULEZ & CAZ

ULEZ (Ultra Low Emission Zone)

More and more cities are introducing Ultra Low Emission Zones, which means anyone with pre euro 6 diesel or pre euro 4 petrol will have to pay a daily fee to drive within the zone. If you live in 1 of the 32 London boroughs then you could be entitled to between £5000 and £9000 scrappage allowance depending on the vehicle.

CAZ (Clean Air Zone)

With the governments goal of reducing emissions by 68% by 2030 and net zero by 2050 some local authorities are already looking to ban all polluting vehicles, i.e. Non-Electric vehicles, from entering the city centres. Currently there are 10 authorities with category C Clean Air Zones, which means that buses, taxis, HGV’s and vans get a penalty for driving in the zones but private cars not being charged, yet!
