A linear electric /hydraulic rear passenger lift offers safe and convenient wheelchair access (a telescopic lift platform may be needed for vehicles with limited height), a more cost-effective solution may be a fixed bifold, gas strut assisted ramp. If the internal space needs to be optimised, a Cassette lift mounted under the vehicle offers the advantage of side door access.

A wheelchair user could transfer outside the vehicle from wheelchair to a Braun Turney seat which mounts inside the vehicle adjacent to the side sliding door 2nd row forward facing position to rotate and lower outside the vehicle to enable transfer, and then lift the occupant safely back into the vehicle.

Wheelchair hoists come with various safe working loads dependent on the wheelchair to be lifted, some fold flat and some have a powered slew.

Once safely inside the vehicle some wheelchair occupants may be able to transfer to a passenger or driver single swivel seat, others may transfer from wheelchair to a powered 6-way seat to transfer from back of vehicle to cab.
